Yasunari Takeshima is a Kyoto native Japanese film and television actor. His fascination in acting began while he was a lead singer in a rock band. Though he primarily started as a director and writer for a theatrical troupe in Tokyo, he found he was an in-demand actor.
Bilingual in English and Japanese, Takeshima has established himself as an international actor. He is known for notable works such as Martin Scorsese’s Silence (2016) and The Last Recipe: Memory of Giraffe’s Tongue (2017), directed by Yōjirō Takita.
He is skilled in singing, traditional Japanese martial arts, playing shamisen and in navigating traditional Japanese boats.
